Overall introduction to Do Son township
Brilliant morning sunshine pouring down the surface of Do Son sea as twinkling stars, pines attractively rustling in the rising winds, and small waves crashing on to the beach all create a Do Son township with a grandiose, magnificent but mysterious and poetic national community. Anyone who comes to Do Son, at least can look once towards the horizon far away, listen to the sorrowful love story that happened at Ba De temple, and put your feet on Hon Dau holy land. And, you will especially witness the heroic Do Son changing its image by exploiting and mobilizing strengths of a marine economic region.

The beautiful Do Son is located along the South China Sea with a row of small but long mountains running in the Northeast - Southwest direction, which look like nine dragons heading themselves to Hon Dau, vying for a pearl. In a distance, highly emerge two sandbanks at the estuary of Van Uc and Thai Binh rivers, which is called Song Ngu hill or Con Khoai, Con Dua. Do Son is a beautiful landscape with various natural resources of high socio-economic values. The landscape and its values have always been the Do Son people's precious material and spiritual heritages.
Do Son officially established on March 14th 1963 belong to Hai Phong city consists of Do Son Township, Van Son and Ngoc Hai communes. After many times joined and separated, until June 6th 1988, Do Son was re-established with Do Son township and Bang La commune according to the Decision No.100/QD-HDBT.
Hai Phong People's Committee issued the Decision No.705/QD-UB on April 3rd 2002 to approve the 'Planning for Do Son Commune until 2020'. Accordingly, Do Son is a satellite urban area of the central Hai Phong, a center for local and international tourists, and a strategic location of the national security and defense. The commune is also responsible for developing marine fishing, fishery farming and salt producing. The decision also mentions its functions (including the tourism area, urban area, administration central area and the entertainment area) and the orientation to develop the infrastructure such as traffic, soil, water supply, electricity and environment protection.
